Methodology
How the Gazette Tests and Scores
Four dimensions, fixed weights, the same fifty prompts for every product. There are no sponsored placements and no exceptions — the Gazette buys its own test subscriptions, and manufacturers see nothing before publication.
Dimensions & weights
| Dimension | Weight | What it measures |
|---|---|---|
| Output quality | 40% | Blind-scored realism, composition and artifact rate |
| Prompt adherence | 25% | Prompts where every constraint renders correctly |
| Editing control | 20% | Inpaint stability and iteration workflow |
| Value for money | 15% | Per-image cost at production volume, verified quarterly |
The protocol
Each tool runs the same 50 prompts at default settings during the published test window. Three reviewers score blind — no product names attached. The final score is the weighted mean. Any score on this site can be recomputed from these rules.
